Introduction


WinFIOL 7.0 introduces the following new functions:


File Hierarchy View

The File View window shows a hierarchy view of available channel, command and log files. If an LDAP server is defined it can be seen in the Network folder. In the File View you can create folders and organize your channels using drag and drop technique.


Easy to Create New Channels

The menu option Channel | New simplifies the creation of new channels by asking only for the required information. More advanced settings can be set and changed after the channel has been opened.


Copy Channels

The menu option Channel | Clone, or right-clicking in an already opened channel window and select
Clone in the pop-up menu, creates and opens an exact copy of the selected channel. This makes it easy to quickly open another channel to the same target without the need to specify any settings.


New Script Functionality


Many more script commands have been added.
String commands:
@AFTERReturns the string after the given sub-string
@BEFOREReturns the string before the given sub-string
@CONCATConcatenates multiple strings
@FORMATFormats a string
@ITEMExtracts a sub-string from a string
@TRIMTrims the string from space characters
@TRIMCHARTrims the string from the given character
@LOWCASEConverts the string to lowercase
@UPCASEConverts the string to capitals

Array commands:
@CUTExtracts columns from an array
@PASTEAppends columns to an array
@FOREACHApplies a command for each array item
@COUNTReturns the number of matching lines
@FINDFinds matching lines and returns the line indexes
@GREPFinds matching lines and returns the lines
@COMPACTRemoves empty lines from an array
@SORTSorts the array items
@UNIQUERemoves duplicated array items

File handling commands:
@APPENDAppends a line to a file

@ERASEDeletes a file
@PUTFILETransfers a file using FTP
@SCRIPTLOGEnables/disable a script log file

Flow handling commands:
@WHILEImplements a while-loop
@IF..INMatches a range of options
@IF..MATCHESMatches a pattern
@IFDEFChecks if a variable is defined
@IFNDEFChecks if a variable is undefined

Miscellaneous commands:
@HEXConverts to a hexadecimal number
@DECIMALConverts to a decimal number
@SELECTFILEDisplays a file selection dialog

@SELECTCHANDisplays a channel selection dialog
@TEMPLATELoads communication settings
@UNSETDeletes a variable

Updated command:
@LOGAdded option APPEND
@MERGESee further merge

New global variables:
_chndirReturns the path to the channel directory
_logdirReturns the path to log files directory
_cmddirReturns the path to command files directory
_versionReturns version of WinFIOL, currently 70.
_currlineReturns the current line when using @FOREACH

_curridxReturns the current line index when using @FOREACH

Transmit Progress Dialog

The transmit progress dialogs can now be docked together to form a single window, thus avoiding screen clutter.

Undress Tool

The Undress tool supports more option on how to delete lines from a file.

Supporting SEA Protocol

A new protocol driver SEA has been added to support communication to the Ericsson test environment SEA.

Supporting CPP-based Targets

A new target driver CPP(NCLI) has been added to support CPP-based Ericsson servers. It supports access to the NCLI command line interface.

Multiple User Support

WinFIOL can now be installed in a server environment and be used by multiple users. A separate server license file is required.

Configuration Tool

The configuration tool has been updated to reflect the server version. An administrator can change WinFIOL parameters that affect all users.
