This individual will be a member of the Tellabs Shanghai Optical Transport 7100/6300 (SDH/SONET/WDM/OTN) engineering team.

Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned as required)

Lead the tier 3 support of Tellabs Optical Transport Products in Shanghai
-
Interface with international customers and provide highest level of product expertise before R&D
-
Simulate and relicate field problems in lab
-
Troubleshoot and determine problem root cause by working with design engineers and testing engineers
-
Write product failure analysis report and engage with customers
-
Interface with customer service engineers and sales system engineers.

Requirements:


Experience Required

Minimum 10 years of telecommunications industry work experience

Excellent customer services or field support skills

Testing or software development experience with network equipment utilizing SDH, SONET, Gigabit Ethernet, data communications, etc.

Job Description:

Handle technical service related issues in support of Tellabs Optical Transport Products (6300, etc.)

Setup of the test environment

The selected candidate for this position will be a member of the Tellabs Optical team in Shanghai. Responsible initially for testing optical components and optical modules based on Tellabs specifications. May expand responsibilities into optical hardware design.

Responsible for optical component and subassembly test development, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.

Generates optical module or system concepts to meet product requirements.

Performs optical/electrical measurements and analysis of optical subsystems and components.

Performs optical tolerance analysis at system and subsystem level.
